What should I do if…
I know my student is going to be tardy due to weather, car trouble, an appointment (or other excused reason)?
A parent must come into the office to sign in their student. If a student will be driving themselves, their parents must call the front office, or fill out the Absent Student Form. These are the only ways your student will be excused.
A student is going to be in quarantine, or is sick and staying home?
Parents MUST still fill out the online Absent Student Form to have the absence on file with the school. In addition, it is the family’s/student’s responsibility to contact all of their teachers and firm up details for a zoom link to use and work the student will miss.
My student needs to:
- Leave school in the middle of the day and/or come to school late due to an appointment?
- Leave before the end of the day (even just a few minutes)?
A parent MUST ALWAYS come to the main office to sign their student in and/or out before they may leave or rejoin their classes.
The only exception is if a student will be driving themselves. Then their parents must call the front office, or fill out the Absent Student Form.
Unless these procedures are followed, we will not be able to excuse your student.
If you know ahead of time you will be picking up your student early, it is always best to let the office know via the online absence form. In this case, the student may come to the front office to wait for your parents to expedite the pick up process.
If in doubt, always use the online Absent Student Form. The more info you can give us, the better!
