Dear students,
If you are looking to try something new this summer or even cross-train in a different sport to prepare for next school year’s athletic season, then consider joining COSmic Club – Colorado Springs’ premiere Ultimate Frisbee summer club program. COSmic Club is made up of two teams – Academy and Elite – so every player can have fun and be challenged at the appropriate skill level. The club season runs mid-May to early August, and the Elite team experience culminates in high-level Ultimate against youth from all over the country at Youth Club Championships (YCC) in Blaine, MN. All students ages 11-19 of any skill level and experience are eligible to play.
For more information, you can:
If you know you already want to play this summer, then you can REGISTER HERE. If you need financial aid, simply apply here. COSmic Club believes no one should be excluded from participating due to financial challenges.
Once registered, attend the Team Placement tryout on Sunday, May 16 from 4-6 pm at Goose Gossage Park. These are not tryouts in the traditional sense – i.e. no one gets cut. Rather, coaches will assess individual athleticism and skill to determine placement on either the Academy or Elite team. To a certain degree, age will also be a factor for team placement.
The coaching staff, which has a combined 30+ years of coaching experience and 40+ years of Ultimate, is dedicated to seeing players develop in athleticism, skill, and character and sportsmanship. And as mentioned earlier, Ultimate Frisbee could be excellent cross-training for your primary sport, especially football, soccer, basketball, track, and cross country.
So, sign up and attend the FREE pre-season clinic on Sunday, May 2 from 2-4pm at Goose Gossage Park to see if COSmic Club is right for you! And in the meantime, contact the COSmic Club Director, Peter Kiefer, at 715.498.6311 or to introduce yourself and ask any questions you might have.
